A working relationship with MPs representing the Solent region is taking shape following a meeting with Business Solent at Westminster.
The Business Solent group led by Chairman Philip Warr, was hosted by Southampton Test MP Alan Whitehead and Caroline Noakes Romsey and Southampton North MP.
MPs were keen to learn more about the aims of Business Solent and there was a stimulating Q&A with the politicians who included Christchurch MP Chris Chope, Southampton Itchen MP John Denham, Fareham MP Mark Hoban, Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage, New Forest MP Julian Lewis, East Hampshire MP Damian Hinds and Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery.
Sally Lynskey CEO said: “The visit was an opportunity for us to explain what we are doing and achieving as an organisation.
“We were able to highlight the role of Business Solent seeking a fairer deal for businesses across the region and explain some of the issues facing businesses in the region,” she said.
One of the key outcomes of the day was that everyone was keen to establish a two way open line of communication so the issues of businesses across the region can be heard at the highest levels within Government.
At the same time Business Solent can provide our local MPs with better access to regional businesses regarding their concerns and issues.
“It was a really positive meeting and I'm sure there will be a greater flow of communication between us,” said Sally.
