The Future Southampton Group are working on a clear statement of our ambition for the city and a standard against which our work and any proposals for the city can be compared.

A core team took part in a workshop in at the end of 2011 to look at the Vision for the city led by James Prowse of Gifford, part of Ramboll, and a document will soon be circulated with their ideas.

He hinted that Southampton's place as an international maritime city would be at the heart of the vision but said there were many areas that still needed agreement.

“There are issues around how we articulate what we see as excellent in the city and get others to support it” said James.

The ‘Visions and Values’ workshop is just one of the main projects being undertaken by the Future Southampton Group.
